With eleven releases under their belt, Music Is Love has continuously pushing things forward. However, for their twelfth release, they look back to their influences.
The ‘Tribute EP’ is a four track slammer, with the A side being a re-issue from Chicago’s Paul Johnson. The Dance Mania legend is well known for his distinct sound, and the MIL camp chose two great tunes that showcase this sound. ‘Movin Baby‘ and ‘I’m a Freak‘ were both first released in 1995 and they still sound fresh.
On the B Side, MIL headman Oli Furness contributes two tracks that show how heavily influenced he was by Paul’s work. ‘Gurl‘ and ‘Nightclub Romance‘ are both slices of jackin’ house that would have fit flawlessly in the Dance Mania catalog.
The Tribute EP will be released soon on Music Is Love.
